Sarah Stewart, M.A., LPC, NCC
Founder, Resiliency First Counseling PLLC
Sarah believes that healing begins with resilience — the quiet strength that allows us to adapt, recover, and grow even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. As the founder and lead therapist, Sarah brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work, creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to rebuild balance and peace in their lives.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Sarah’s commitment to service began early. Her experience as a Hospital Corpsman instilled in her a deep respect for courage, teamwork, and emotional endurance — values that continue to guide her clinical approach. Drawing on that foundation, she specializes in supporting first responders, veterans, and their families, offering culturally competent, trauma-informed care tailored to the unique demands of service-oriented professions.
As part of both a first responder family and a blended family, Sarah understands the real-world challenges that come with transitions, parenting, and complex family dynamics. She helps clients navigate these experiences with compassion, clarity, and practical tools for communication, emotional regulation, and connection. Her therapeutic style blends warmth and authenticity with evidence-based strategies, empowering clients to move forward with strength and self-awareness.
Sarah’s approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration — meeting each client where they are and walking beside them toward meaningful change. She believes that resilience isn’t about never breaking; it’s about finding the courage to rebuild stronger than before.
Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Sam Houston State University, where her research focuses on mental health care for first responders.
